5 Accounts to Follow on Instagram (That Will Fill Your Cup)

You are the sum of who you surround yourself with and this includes Instagram. Instagram can sometimes feel like a race to keep up with the Joneses, and as we know comparison is the thief of joy. As in real life, try to surround yourself with real connections, kind words, and inspiring people. In 2023, I really took stock of who I was following and what content I was consuming. I quickly realized that I lot of the people I was following made me feel like crap. As we near the beginning of a new year, go through your Instagram and unfollow/mute accounts that do not serve you. Fill your cup with these five accounts.

Architectural Digest

Arch Digest needs no introduction. As a creative who garners lots of inspiration from architecture, interiors, and nature, Arch Digest is my go-to for lightbulb moments. Happiness comes in many forms - friends, family, alcohol, drugs, whatever puts a smile on your face (you do you, queen). For me, happiness is a beautifully decorated home with a closet full of unique, intentional clothing. I am a firm believer of your home being an extension of your creativity. Creating a space that is inspiring, smile inducing, and soul fulfilling is proven to increase productivity and positively impact your mental health.

Life.W.Bex

Bex is a middle schooler from Ohio who is relatable in any stage of life. Although Bex creates a lot of GRWM and unboxing videos, she also posts real and unfiltered monologues about the trials and tribulations of middle school. Bex is in a stage of life that is not conducive to kindness and confidence, yet she remains positive, happy, and unapologetically herself. Bex is wise FAR beyond her years and a breath of fresh air. Bex is your internet little sister who often leaves me with tears in my eyes thinking about that time in my life. Check out this video

MG Style

MG Style is the epitome of a cool girl. While fashion previously had a monopoly in New York, Paris, and Los Angeles, MG Style brings her style expertise to the South. Her "What To Wear This Week" posts are chic, relatable, and attainable. MG is a testament to staying consistent and dressing for yourself. I have followed MG for years and seeing her growth has been awesome.

Dr. Mark Hyman

Dr. Hyman is a functional medicine doctor teaching us one post at a time about the healing power of nutritious food. He preaches that food is medicine and what we consume, is who we are. Dr. Hyman makes approaching functional medicine easy and understandable with quick recipes, understandable explanations, and practical tips. As a person that lives in constant fear of all the chemicals we consume, Dr. Hyman is my favorite doctor to follow. He has a fantastic podcast called The Doctor's Farmacy and lots of amazing books. His approach isn't scary and doesn't make you feel like you are doing to die from your current diet.

Windy O'Connor

Windy O'Connor is an artist from Charlotte, North Carolina. Windy's art is bright, happy, and beautiful. Her posts are a breath of fresh air. From beautiful tablescapes featuring her trays and tumblers, to stunning shots of her art instillations - her content is simply inspiring. She is a champion for women and often collaborates with other female designers like Bene Handbags (Santa baby?!). Her style is amazing and her lifestyle is joyful.
